Miguel Miñana Shares His Expertise in Robert Blancaflor’s Art & Science of Event Styling Talks

Having been in the field of event management for 28 years warranted Miguel Miñana’s place as one of the panelists of the prestigious line-up of resource speakers in the recently concluded Art & Science of Event Styling Talks held at the Manila House Private Members Club conducted by famed Filipino event stylist Robert Blancaflor. The talks, attended by young and promising event stylists from all over the country, dealt on the business as well as the artistry of event styling.

Miñana on his part, being the head of one the more distinguished event management companies in the Philippines shared his beginnings and how ThemeWorks Events has grown to handle many prominent corporate and social events. ThemeWorks has been staging the State Dinners of Malacanang for visiting heads of state since 2001. Blancaflor and Miñana’s friendship go all the way back to their beginnings and have collaborated on several projects for the ASEAN and APEC receptions, among others, thru the years.

ThemeWorks does corporate launches, installations and events as well some Business and Agri Summits.

The talk was culminated with a fabulously set-up dinner only Robert Blancaflor can whip up. The long mirrored table was suspended by cables in the middle of a draped ballroom. The table-top flower arrangements where masterpieces created by the class participants to augment the flora suspended from the draped ceiling hovering above the banquet table.

Dinner began with a synchronized service of Japanese Clear Soup followed by a Second Course of Braised Miso Short Rib and Jumbo Prawn Aburi. Dessert was a light serving of Deconstructed Eton Mess.

After the dinner, Robert announced that he was putting together the first book on event styling in the Philippines which will soon be out next year. He also is in the look-out for brilliant and creative minds to apprentice with him in his creation of the book and will travel with him to his soon-to-open branches in Los Angeles and New York.
